Theresa Martella is a spiritual director and spiritual ecologist who is skilled at listening deeply to you as you explore your spirituality in a nonjudging and loving way. Theresa is a student of contemplative wisdom, having spent two years studying at the Center for Action and Contemplation under Richard Rohr and other great teachers of our time. She will complete her certification in Spiritual Direction at the Benedictine Spiritual Direction Training program at Benet Hill Monastery in Colorado Springs in August 2024.

Theresa was an environmental scientist for the U.S Environmental Protection Agency for 36 years. She was an early leader in sustainability and created EPA’s Center for Sustainable Development in the late 1990’s. She later worked in the Chesapeake Bay Program (CBP), regarded by many ecologists as the premier estuary restoration program in the world. From 2012-2022 Theresa worked on EPA’s Climate Action Team. Theresa retired from EPA in 2023. 

Theresa has an undergraduate degree from the University of Pennsylvania and a master’s degree from Arcadia University.
